The absorption and utilisation of food by the body is fundamental to nutrition and is facilitated by digestion. Plants, which convert solar energy to food by photosynthesis, are the primary food source. Animals that feed on plants often serve as sources of food for other animals.

This big word Food has more in store beyond Energy.

It has healing properties. It is a big mental and emotional support which is needed for our mind and body.

Sometimes the strongest  cravings hit when you’re at your weakest point emotionally. You may turn to it for comfort — consciously or unconsciously — when facing a difficult problem, feeling stressed or even feeling bored.

Emotional eating is to make yourself feel better—to fill emotional needs, rather than your stomach. Unfortunately, emotional eating doesn’t fix emotional problems.

In fact, it usually makes you feel worse. Afterwards, not only does the original emotional issue remain, but you also feel guilty for overeating. Which ultimately leads to weight gain? So the same healing properties of food start working against the individual..

3. Socio Economic status : From medieval times to present day society food denotes ones social and economic status in social circle. The layout of food in the parties depicts our socio-economic status. Number of Dishes, Different kind of cuisines, lay out of menu etc.
We get to understand different culture , climate, Cultivation of nation through its cuisines and eating pattern and suitability of its gut.
For example In a Paddy growing state like Karnataka. Rice is the major crop. People consume rice and its products more. They will be having genes to digest rice.

4. Cultural Heritage : Becoming more aware of your diet and the healing properties of it will help you to make necessary adjustments to meet the needs of your body — and it will do an enormous amount to maintain and improve your health.
